Recorded at Rarefied Recording in North Park in January of 2022, Gilbert Castellanos is pleased to

announce the impending arrival of his first album since 2013’s Federal Jazz Project, Espérame en el Cielo.

 

Through the brilliant engineering and mastering by Chris Hobson of HOBSound, Co-Producer Joshua White has elegantly arranged an incredible band of musicians in what is a musical roadmap of Castellanos’ trials, tribulations, and triumphs during these past three years. This eclectic look back through the rollercoaster of experiences and the music that defines these moments for Gilbert also features Joshua White on piano, Christopher Holliday on alto sax, Tyler Kreutel on drums and delivers bassist John Murray’s debut performance on an album.

 

Included on the 9-song album will be an homage to Gilbert's roots as he presents Esperame en el Cielo and La Puerta, as well as songs of triumph like Totum Pole and Home is Africa.

 

Moving forward with the guidance of Executive Producer Drew Ziegelbauer, the album will be released on CD, digital platforms and OF COURSE on high-quality vinyl.
